Studying mathematics does not mean poring over books and scholarly publications, browsing the computer, or searching for answers on the Internet; rather, it is based on exploring, examining, observing, listening, measuring, comparing, verifying, analyzing, including, excluding, reflecting, collaborating, and working independently. When facing challenges, knowledge, experience, and competencies are important, as are feelings and emotions, well-being and mood, ambitions, desires, plans, and goals. Once a person becomes familiar with mathematics, they realize that all of this is often more demanding than the content of the mathematical problems themselves.
