Elementary School for Adults

WHO CAN ENROLL?

A person may enroll in the Adult Elementary School program if they:

• has completed the required elementary school curriculum or the curriculum of an elementary school with an adapted program that meets an equivalent educational standard, but has not graduated from elementary school, or
• completed an adapted elementary school curriculum designed for students with lower academic standards.

A person who is at least 15 years old may also register if:

• It is not possible to determine whether she has completed her elementary school education or fulfilled her elementary school requirement.
• did not complete elementary school or fulfill her elementary school obligations due to exceptional circumstances that endangered her life (e.g., war, natural disasters).

The training is free.

CLASS LOCATIONS

• Grades through 4th grade: 5 Ambrožiča Novljana Street, Ljubljana (buses 7, 2, 12, 27, 22)
• Grades 5 through 9: Kališnikov trg 11-12, Ježica (buses 14, 6, 8, 11).

CLASS SCHEDULE

• Classes are held in the morning and afternoon.
• The school year is divided into two semesters—the fall semester (from September to the end of January) and the spring semester (from February to the end of June). Students complete one grade level per semester.
• Students who attend lectures receive both written and oral grades on an ongoing basis.
  • Students who do not attend lectures or do not complete their coursework while attending lectures must earn their grades by taking exams.
• Students in grades 1 through 4 receive a semester-long schedule, while students in grades 5 through 9 receive a weekly schedule.

WHERE TO GO AFTER COMPLETING ADULT ELEMENTARY SCHOOL?

Upon completion of adult elementary school, we issue a certificate of completion that is equivalent to the certificate awarded by a regular elementary school and allows students to enroll in all secondary education programs.

Enrollment and Withdrawal

ENROLLMENT
Participants may enroll in the adult elementary school program up to two times free of charge.

To register, you must first make arrangements with the training coordinator: for grades 1 through 4, contact katja.potocnik@cene-stupar.si; for grades 5 through 9, contact andreja.erzen@cene-stupar.si and sabina.zupan@cene-stupar.si.

CALL FOR ENROLLMENT IN THE ADULT ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PROGRAM 2026/2027 – FALL SEMESTER

To enroll, you will need:

• Certificate of Completion of Elementary School
• Report cards for grades 7, 8, and 9, or for the last grade successfully completed and the last grade attended, or an extract from the record of grades attended.
• identification document.

Participants are credited for all previously completed requirements as evidenced by the submitted documentation, on the basis of which they receive a special decision.

OUTPUT
A participant is discharged from primary school for adults if:

• has not been fulfilling the requirements of the individual education plan for more than six months,
• fails to comply with the provider’s rules, which are an integral part of the education contract.

CURRICULUM FOR THE NINE-YEAR ELEMENTARY SCHOOL FOR ADULTS

A. Required Curriculum (Estimated Number of Hours)

The minimum number of hours required to complete the curriculum is 95%.
* Students select elective courses in accordance with Article 17 of the Elementary School Act.

B. Expanded Program

Fall Semester

The Adult Elementary School is scheduled to begin on September 7, 2026.

Registration for the Adult Elementary School program will take place from June 15, 2026, to September 2, 2026, via email.

Registration takes place from August 17, 2026, to September 3, 2026, by prior arrangement with the organizer.

Spring Semester

The start of the Elementary School for Adults and Adolescents is scheduled for February 9, 2026 (grades 1 through 4) and February 16, 2026 (grades 5 through 9).

Registration for the Adult Elementary School program runs from December 8, 2025, to January 30, 2026.

Registration takes place from January 19, 2026, to January 30, 2026, by prior arrangement with the organizer.
