They presented a story of successful integration: seven years ago, he was an applicant for international protection; today, he is employed, self-sufficient, and on the verge of obtaining Slovenian citizenship.

In this short video, you can watch the remarkable story of Hevidar Mustafa, a former participant who is now a member of our team. Iris Buršič, a teacher of Slovenian as a second and foreign language, highlights the role of teachers in teaching and integrating immigrants into Slovenian language courses and other forms of educational support. She also emphasizes how important it is for immigrants to enroll in these courses immediately upon arriving in Slovenia, as through language learning they also socialize, expand their social network, learn about new cultures, functional literacy, and generally integrate more easily into society.

The inclusive environment at the Cene Štupar Public Institution – CILJ has played a key role in the success story of Hevidar Mustafa and many other immigrants in Slovenia.

Alida Zagorc Šuligoj, Head of the Department, therefore emphasizes that we must all strive to foster a culture of inclusion and acceptance of diversity, since our public institution alone includes approximately 1,000 immigrants who live and work in the central Slovenian region approximately 1,000 immigrants who live and work in the central Slovenian region are enrolled each year.
