The start date of the course is not known in advance. We start new groups almost every month. We’ll place you in a group no later than two months after you enroll. We start a group once we have enough registrations for the same time slot, the same location, and a similar level of proficiency in Slovenian. Third-country nationals (citizens of countries that are not EU members) who have temporary or permanent residence status in Slovenia (this does not apply to persons with recognized international protection status) and who have submitted an application for a free course to the competent administrative unit and obtained the appropriate certificate confirming that they meet the requirements.

Enrollment is open year-round. First, you must submit the online enrollment application. Once we receive your application, we’ll send you an email within 14 days with all the enrollment details (date, time, location). Enrollment must be done in person. You must come in person to complete the enrollment process.

Courses start throughout the year, so you can enroll at any time.

Yes, you can take the exam even before the course ends.

To obtain Slovenian citizenship or permanent residency, you need to pass a basic-level exam. More information at

. If you need proof for other purposes (e.g., studies, employment, a loan, etc.), check with, for example, your school, employer, bank, etc., or obtain the relevant regulations, ordinance, law, etc., where the type of exam and level of proficiency are defined in more detail.

Upon initial enrollment, a registration fee of 150 € and three exams (90 € per exam) are due, or the registration fee and the first installment of tuition. The enrollment fee is valid for the current school year. The cost of the three exams is billed at least at the beginning of each school year.

By enrolling in adult education programs, a participant acquires the status of an adult education participant. Participants in adult education who are enrolled in publicly recognized programs of elementary, vocational, secondary, and higher vocational education and are under the age of 27 have certain rights equivalent to those of students in full-time education (e.g., transportation, scholarships, work through referral letters, etc.). However, they may only exercise certain rights until they turn 26 (e.g., health insurance, survivor’s pension, etc.). Check with the relevant authorities (the Employment Service of Slovenia, social work centers, the Pension and Disability Insurance Institute, etc.) for more detailed conditions. A participant’s status in adult education ends when the participant successfully completes the program or withdraws from it.

Paying for exams as they are taken means that, upon payment, the participant is entitled to take the course twice (including a possible retake). Depending on their abilities and personal educational plan, participants pay for any number of exams and/or lectures as they go. A prerequisite is that they pay for at least the first three exams upon enrollment.

The tuition fee covers 10 lectures and 10 exams. Participants must take the number of exams specified in the tuition fee within one calendar year and pay the associated fees. Tuition may be paid in monthly installments or in a single lump sum.

Enrollment is open year-round or until all available spots are filled. To enroll, contact the program organizer via email to schedule an appointment, send them your prior education records by that time, and then come in person to our office. If you are a minor, your legal guardian (generally both parents) must accompany you. At the agreed-upon time, you will have an introductory interview with the organizer, receive all additional information, and, if you decide to enroll, complete your personalized education plan.
