In cooperation with the Centre for Slovene as a Second and Foreign Language (Department of Slovene Studies, Faculty of Arts, University of Ljubljana), we conduct examinations in Slovene at the Basic Level according to the publicly valid educational program Slovene as a Second and Foreign Language. The exams are intended for all those who need a publicly valid certificate of knowledge of Slovene for official purposes (for example for work, for acquiring Slovene citizenship).

The Basic Level Exam (A2-B1)

In cooperation with the Centre for Slovene as a Second and Foreign Language (Department of Slovene Studies, Faculty of Arts, University of Ljubljana), we conduct examinations in Slovene at the Basic Level according to the publicly valid educational program Slovene as a Second and Foreign Language. The exams are intended for all those who need a publicly valid certificate of knowledge of Slovene for official purposes (for example for work, for acquiring Slovene citizenship).

The exam is conducted in accordance with the standards of knowledge set out in the educational program Slovene as a Second and Foreign Language.

APPLICATION PROCESS

 

Register for the basic level Slovene language exam by:

 

  1. 1. fill in theAPPLICATION FORM  and send it to us
  2. 2. you pay for the exam OR you send us a certificate from the Administrative unit (Certificate of eligibility for the free first knowledge test).

 

The application is only relevant if information in the application form is filled in. Send us the completed application forms: 

 

  • by post to the address: Cene Štupar - CILJ, Ulica Ambrožiča Novljana 5, 1000 Ljubljana, with the note “Application form” or
  • in the attachment to the e-mail address: tecajislovenscine@cene-stupar.si.

 

Candidates who are entitled to a free first test of knowledge of the Slovene language at the Basic Level must submit a Certificate of eligibility for a free first test of knowledge at the time of application.

 

Anyone can apply for the Slovene language exam, even if they have not previously studied Slovene as a second and foreign language or if they have not completed any preparatory course.

 

Candidates, applicants for Slovene citizenship, who are illiterate, can take the exam in only speech communication in Slovene at the Basic Level, if they submit the appropriate proof issued by the Ministry of the Interior upon application.

PRICE AND PAYMENT

After receiving your application form, we will send you an invoice for the exam within the agreed deadline.

The price of the exam is 128,10 € and includes taking the exam, sample test, certificate and the cost of sending the certificate.

 

You will be registered for the exam only after paying the exam costs.

 

Before the exam, you will receive an invitation with detailed information about the time and place of the exam.

 

CANCELLATION

The candidate may cancel the exam at least two (2) days before the announced deadline by 12 noon. In this case, it can be re-scheduled for the next deadline. The amount paid is transferable to the following exam dates in the current calendar year. If the candidate withdraws from the exam without deregistering, he must re-pay the full amount at the next application.

For successfully passing the exam / positive assessment, the candidate must achieve at least 60% of points for level A2 or 85% point for level B1. The candidate also passes the exam if he achieves 85% points in three parts and 50-59% points in one part. The final grade on the exam is descriptive: passed or. failed.

 

The candidate shall be notified of the result of the examination no later than thirty (30) days from the date of the examination. It shall be notified by the examiner. The candidate gets acquainted with the results at the headquarters of the Cene Štupar - CILJ institute, at Ulica Ambrožiča Novljana 5 in Ljubljana.

 

The candidate who passes the exam will receive a publicly valid document. He may submit the document for:

 

  • acquisition of Slovenian citizenship,
  • practicing a certain profession,
  • studies in Slovenia,…

 A candidate who fails the exam will receive an Exam Report.
