INVITATION TO FREE WORKSHOPS AS PART OF THE “INTERGENERATIONAL MOSAIC OF BARJE” PROJECT, IN COLLABORATION WITH THE CO-ORGANIZER, THE MUNICIPALITY OF BOROVNICA
You’re invited to participate for free in four workshops as part of the “Barje Intergenerational Mosaic” project . Everyone who wants to learn something new about gardening, herb cultivation, apitherapy, and beekeeping—as well as how to use a smartphone and computer—is welcome. Everyone is welcome.
Through the implementation of our modules, we will address the needs and specific characteristics of the local community through interdisciplinary, holistic, circular, and collaborative efforts among the project partners, the Municipality, and the Borovnica Elementary School, by transferring various types of knowledge and and skills across generations.
The dates and locations of the workshops we will be holding at Dr. Ivan Korošec Elementary School in Borovnica are as follows:
- USING SMARTPHONES; Wednesday, the 12th 4. at 4:00 p.m.
We’ll develop skills and knowledge on how to use a smartphone. We’ll focus on the basic functions, but of course the workshop will be long enough for us to answer your individual questions as well. Don’t forget to bring your cell phone with you.
- BASICS OF COMPUTER SCIENCE; Thursday, the 13th 4. at 4:00 p.m.
We’ll learn how to use a computer or build on our existing knowledge. We’ll focus on basic functions (Word, Excel, Gmail, using the Google browser, etc.) and, above all, answer your questions. You can bring your own laptop, or we can provide one for you.
- APITHERAPY AND BEES; Friday, April 14, at 4:00 p.m.
The workshop will be led by Tadeja Vidmar, the “Honey Queen of 2022.” We’ll raise awareness about the importance of bees in improving our quality of life and how each of us can contribute to this. We’ll also introduce APITHERAPY, or how bee therapy heals us. Apitherapy is a form of therapy that uses bee stings and bee products such as honey, propolis, royal jelly … strengthens the immune system and maintains health.
- GARDENING AND HERBALISM; Monday, the 17th 4. at 4:00 p.m.
Joining us will be our project partner Margita Vehar from Dežela zelišč. It will share new knowledge, experience, and best practices in the fields of gardening and herb cultivation, and encourage self-sufficiency in vegetables and herbs.
