The project partners—the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia (GZS) Central Slovenia Regional Chamber, the AIA Association – Mengeš Youth Center, and Cene Štupar – CILJ—hosted the mayor of the Municipality of Trzin, Peter Ložar, who emphasized that he himself had envisioned the municipal administration operating on a business model and highlighted that cooperation between entrepreneurs and the municipal administration is crucial for the progress of the entire municipality. Furthermore, the Municipality of Trzin is the most developed municipality in Slovenia and, commendably, is debt-free. He expressed his support for the project, noting that his municipality also participates in numerous European projects that have contributed to its development.
In addition to the mayor , we hosted Ms. Urška Jež of Transformation Lighthouse, d.o.o., Mr. Jure Tomc of JT Business Development, Cresco Innovation Slovenia and Business Angels of Slovenia, Mr. Ninoslav Pavkov from Dormeo, and Prof. Dr. Maja Konečnik from the Department of Entrepreneurship at the Faculty of Economics in Ljubljana.
The guests shared their entrepreneurial stories and, when discussing marketing, emphasized that the fundamental principles of marketing have not changed as much as the marketing channels themselves—channels that entrepreneurs must pay close attention to. If we want to succeed, we must be willing to listen to constructive criticism and constantly monitor market conditions. It is essential to set clear goals and pursue them, while also keeping a close eye on the competition. It’s also important to constantly monitor global trends so we can adapt our business operations in a timely manner. All panelists agreed, however, that despite all the digitalization , business is still built by people, so we must first and foremost take care of our employees, our network of partners, and our customers. This involves both effective communication and networking, as the social network we create—alongside a high-quality product or service—is actually a key factor for success.
The first breakfast took place a week ago and was dedicated to setting entrepreneurial goals. Toni Dragar, mayor of the Municipality of Domžale, emphasized that participation in the entrepreneurial ecosystem is of key importance. He noted that a public call for applications is currently open to Domžale entrepreneurs for loans with subsidized interest rates to promote the development of entrepreneurship in the Municipality of Domžale for 2021, with a total loan amount of 1,500,000.00 EUR.
The business guests—Mr. Vinko Juhart of JUVI d.o.o., Mojca Šimnic Šolinc, M.A., director of Tosama, Ms. Vesna Goršek from the “Verjamem vate” Association, and Prof. Mateja Drnovšek, Ph.D., from the Department of Entrepreneurship at the Faculty of Economics in Ljubljana, emphasized that entrepreneurs are united by a passion for their work, which evolves into a personal mission. In addition, it is essential that roles within a company be clearly defined and delineated; and it is equally crucial to set goals that serve as a roadmap for the organization’s development and for obtaining feedback on whether we have achieved our set objectives. They also highlighted discipline, dedication, and building strong relationships within their companies and with business partners, all of which collectively lead us to the desired results.
