KORAK (Core Competencies 2023–2029)

Cene Štupar – CILJ was successful in its application for the Ministry of Education and Training of the Republic of Slovenia’s public call for proposals, “Core Competencies 2023–2029.” Together with our partners, we will provide free adult education programs through 2029.

Project Funders

The project is co-funded by the Republic of Slovenia, the Ministry of Education, and the European Union through the European Social Fund Plus.

“The project is being implemented as part of the European Cohesion Policy Program for 2021–2027 in Slovenia, Policy Objective 4: A More Social and Inclusive Europe for the Implementation of the European Pillar of Social Rights, Priority 6: Skills and a Responsive Labor Market, Specific Objective ESO4.7: Promoting lifelong learning, particularly flexible opportunities for upskilling and reskilling for all, taking into account entrepreneurial and digital skills, better anticipating changes and demands for new skills based on labor market needs, facilitating transitions between jobs, and promoting occupational mobility.”

Project Description

The purpose of the project is to increase adults’ participation in lifelong learning and to improve the competencies they need to meet labor market demands, enhance their employability and mobility, and foster their personal development. The goal is to help adults acquire and improve their basic competencies and general education.

As part of the project, we will carry out the following:

1. SLOVENIAN LANGUAGE COURSES FOR IMMIGRANTS

• The officially approved curriculum for “Slovenian as a Second and Foreign Language,” comprising 180 instructional hours
• Publicly Approved Program: Initial Integration of Immigrants, comprising 180 instructional hours
• Informal Slovenian language communication courses totaling 40 instructional hours (from the survival level onward)
• A 30-hour preparatory program for Slovenian language exams

2. TRAINING FOR LIFE SUCCESS

• Publicly Recognized Programs: Life Skills Training – My Step (UŽU MK), 100 hours in scope

3. LANGUAGE PROGRAMS

• English, German, Italian, Russian, French, and other languages at various levels , totaling 40 instructional hours
• We also offer courses in business English, German, Italian, Russian, French, and other languages at various levels , totaling 40 instructional hours, for companies and other organizations

4. COMPUTER AND DIGITAL CONTENT CURRICULA

• Publicly recognized program in Computer Literacy for Adults, consisting of 100 instructional hours
• Informal programs for developing digital competencies: using computer software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), e-communication on computers and smartphones using various tools and apps (email, Zoom, Viber, etc.), e-services in everyday life (e-shopping, e-taxes, e-health), social media (FB, LI, IG, etc.), use of artificial intelligence (ChatGPT, etc.), creating digital content, online safety, troubleshooting ICT issues, etc. , totaling 40 instructional hours

5. PROGRAMS FOR PERSONAL GROWTH AND CAREER DEVELOPMENT

We offer programs covering various topics designed to develop one or more competencies, each consisting of 40 instructional hours:

• effective communication,
• conflict resolution,
• a healthy lifestyle, stress management,
• personal responsibility for sustainability and the circular economy within the company and the environment,
• financial literacy,
• commitment to work, time management,
• cultural awareness and expression,
• employee participation,
• active citizenship in society,
• …

The project’s target audience

The target group for this project consists of adults classified under ZIO-1.

We pay special attention to the following vulnerable target groups (at least 60%):

• people with lower levels of education (high school education—ISCED 3 or lower)
• working people who are 55 years of age or older,
• foreigners,
• inmates in correctional facilities.

Project Results

We will carry out 386 programs, involving a total of 4,462 participants.

As part of all our programs, we will carry out 51 publicly accredited programs, in which we will enroll a total of 510 participants.

Impact indicator EECO01 (total number of unique participants): 3,328; note that a single participant may take part in multiple programs, but is counted only once in the indicator.

Of the 3,328 one-time participants, an estimated 1,997 (60%) will fall into at least one of the following vulnerable groups:

• those with a lower level of education (ISCED 3 or below),
• working people who are 55 or older,
• foreigners,
• inmates in correctional facilities.

Outcome indicator EECR03 (participants who will obtain a qualification upon completion of the program): 374

Financial Value of the Project

Total project value – €2,240,509.54, of which EU co-financing amounts to €896,203.82
