The Culinary and Tourism Technician program combines training in hospitality and tourism, providing you with the fundamental skills needed to perform more demanding tasks in the hospitality and tourism industries. Upon completion of the program, you will earn a Level V education certificate.

Program Description: Culinary and Tourism Technician

Hospitality and tourism are fields that are constantly evolving and adapting to other industries. Workers in this sector are open-minded, communicative, friendly, and innovative. Tourism professionals must often communicate in multiple languages, be willing to collaborate, frequently learn new things, be willing to try new approaches, and not be afraid of challenges. A culinary and tourism technician masters the basics of organizational and administrative technical skills, such as bookkeeping and recording business transactions, planning and organizing work, drafting business letters in both the native and foreign languages, computer use, completing reports and spreadsheets, creating charts, handling cash, securities, and valuables, leading groups, and understanding the local environment. They must also be familiar with domestic and international cuisine, plan and carry out guest entertainment, and be knowledgeable about the natural and cultural heritage.

The hospitality and tourism technician profile is currently among the most sought-after, and there is certainly plenty of room in this industry to bring potential entrepreneurial ideas to life.

Enrollment Requirements

Anyone who meets the following minimum requirements may enroll in the Culinary and Tourism Technician program:

  • completed elementary school or lower-level vocational school

Enrollment Process

Before enrolling, you can contact us by phone or email, or visit our office for an informational meeting. After reviewing your documentation and analyzing your needs and options, you can decide to enroll. Upon enrollment, you will work with the program organizer to develop a personalized education plan that outlines the conditions, methods, formats, and deadlines for fulfilling the obligations set forth in the educational program.

Upon enrollment, you will also gain access to the e-index, where you can access various materials, exam dates, lectures, consultations with professors, class schedules, and other important information.

Payment

The registration fee is 150 EUR and is valid for the current school year. Upon enrollment, the participant chooses the educational format that best suits their needs. If they wish to attend lectures more frequently, they can purchase a package of 10 exams with lectures (tuition) and pay for them in installments. However, if they choose to study independently and take exams, they can pay for exams and lectures as they go.

The exam costs 90 EUR, and the exam with a lecture costs 160 EUR. Tuition is 1,600 EUR—you can pay it in up to 10 installments.

The first retake of the exam is free of charge.

Upon enrollment, you must pay the enrollment fee and the cost of at least three exams, or the enrollment fee and the first installment of tuition. This allows each participant to create a personalized educational program and pay only for what they actually use.

If the payer is a COMPANY or another legal entity, we will issue an invoice to you based on the company’s purchase order.

Type of Education

Adjustments for Special Education

Course requirements are adjusted based on the recognition of an individual’s prior learning. Adult education is a specialized field of education, so we strive to adapt to your needs as much as possible and take your individual needs into account.

Lectures are held 2–4 times a week in the afternoon, as are exams and office hours. Exam periods run throughout the year, and the vast majority of exams can be taken at least once a month. This allows participants to set their own pace and tailor their education to their needs.

You can choose between attending lectures and self-directed learning. An exam follows the completion of the lecture series. While the focus is on self-study, you have access to in-person and online consultations with the instructor, during which they will explain your course requirements and objectives and are available to answer any questions you may have.

Upon enrollment, work with the training provider to develop a personalized training plan that outlines the conditions, methods, formats, and deadlines for fulfilling the obligations set forth in the training program.

Lectures

2–4 times a week in the afternoon, according to the schedule

Most courses do not have mandatory lectures before the exam, but depending on your individual situation, we will advise you on which ones you should attend.

Who can complete the program?

Requirements for Completing the PROGRAM

The following must be rated positively:

  • general education courses,
  • required professional modules,
  • elective professional modules,
  • the open part of the curriculum.

In addition, the following must be completed:

  • requirements for on-the-job training,
  • vocational high school diploma.

Conclusion – Vocational High School Diploma

  • a written and oral exam in Slovenian,
  • a written and oral exam in gastronomy and tourism with a focus on entrepreneurship,
  • a written and oral exam in a foreign language or mathematics,
  • product or service and justification.

Obtaining an officially recognized document: VOCATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA

Degree earned: GASTRONOMY AND TOURISM TECHNICIAN (Male) / GASTRONOMY AND TOURISM TECHNICIAN (Female)

Completion of Education - Vocational High School Diploma

The vocational high school graduation exam is administered three times a year (spring, fall, and winter sessions).

To register for the vocational high school graduation exam, go to the office and fill out the REGISTRATION FORM. You do not necessarily need to have passed all your exams at the time of registration. You must complete all requirements by the withdrawal deadline. If you wish to withdraw from the vocational high school graduation exam, you must fill out a WITHDRAWAL FORM at the office .
