Program Description: Nursing Assistant

Nursing assistants are people with their hearts in the right place. Your work will involve caring for people with disabilities, the sick, and those who are no longer able to care for themselves—usually older adults. Your responsibilities—or rather, your work with them—will include helping patients bathe, while also monitoring their vital signs. As nursing assistants—or professional healthcare providers—you will receive great gratitude and trust from those in need of care.

Both here and elsewhere in the world, the proportion of older adults is growing, leading to an increasing need for health care and well-being services. Families and healthcare providers are looking for exceptional individuals who will genuinely care for the elderly, find joy in providing daily assistance to them, and are trustworthy, experienced, and professionally qualified.

There is high demand for this type of professional , and it continues to grow, which presents an excellent opportunity to launch a career in this field.

Enrollment Requirements

Anyone who has successfully completed the following may enroll in the educational program:

  • elementary school education or
  • lower-level vocational education or equivalent education under previous regulations.

Enrollment Process

Before enrolling, you can contact us by phone or email, or visit our office for an informational meeting. After reviewing your documentation and analyzing your needs and options, you can decide to enroll. Upon enrollment, you’ll work with the training organizer to develop a personalized training plan that outlines the conditions, methods, formats, and deadlines for fulfilling the obligations set forth in the training program.

Upon enrollment, you’ll also gain access to the e-index, where you can find various materials, exam dates, lectures, professor office hours, class schedules, and other important information.

Payment

The registration fee is 150 EUR and is valid for the current school year. Upon registration, the participant chooses the educational format that best suits them. If they wish to attend lectures more frequently, they can purchase a package of 10 exams with lectures (tuition) and pay for them in installments. However, if they choose to study independently and take exams, they can pay for exams and lectures as they go.

The exam costs 90 EUR, and the exam with a lecture costs 160 EUR. Tuition is 1,600 EUR—you can pay it in up to 10 installments. The first retake of the exam is free of charge.

Upon enrollment, you must pay the enrollment fee and at least three exams, or the enrollment fee and the first installment of tuition. This allows each participant to create a personalized educational program and pay only for what they actually use.

If the payer is a COMPANY or another legal entity, we will issue an invoice to you based on the company’s purchase order.

Type of Education

Adjustments for Special Education: Nursing Assistant

Course requirements are adjusted based on the recognition of an individual’s prior learning. Adult education is a specialized field of education, so we strive to adapt to you as much as possible and take your individual needs into account.

Lectures are held 2–4 times a week in the afternoon, as are exams and office hours. Exam periods are held year-round, and the vast majority of exams can be taken at least once a month. This allows participants to set their own pace and tailor their education to suit their needs.

You can choose between attending lectures and self-study. An exam follows the completion of the lecture series. While the focus is on self-study, you have access to in-person and online consultations with the instructor, during which they will explain your course requirements and objectives and are available to answer any questions you may have.

Upon enrollment, work with the training provider to develop a personalized training plan that outlines the conditions, methods, formats, and deadlines for fulfilling the obligations set forth in the training program.

Lectures

2–4 times a week in the afternoon, according to the schedule

Most courses do not have mandatory lectures before the exam, but depending on your individual situation, we will advise you on which ones you should attend anyway.

Who is eligible to complete the program?

Requirements for Completing the PROGRAM

The following must be rated positively:

  • general education courses,
  • required professional modules,
  • elective professional modules,
  • the open part of the curriculum.

In addition, the following must be completed:

  • requirements for on-the-job training,
  • final exam.

Completion – Final Exam

  • a written and oral exam in Slovenian,
  • product or service and its justification.

Obtaining a legally valid document: FINAL EXAM CERTIFICATE

Qualification earned: NURSE AID

Completion of Schooling - Final Exam

Final exams are held three times a year (spring, fall, and winter sessions).

To register for the final exam, go to the office and fill out the REGISTRATION FORM. You do not necessarily need to have passed all your exams at the time of registration. You must complete all requirements by the withdrawal deadline. If you wish to withdraw from the final exam, you must fill out a WITHDRAWAL FORM at the registrar’s office .
