The “Career Room: Escape to the Future” will be dedicated to career guidance and will be designed as an inclusive and inspiring innovative learning environment. It will promote the development of key competencies for the professions of today and tomorrow.

As part of the Erasmus+ project, we will create a digitized and mobile “CAREER ROOM: ESCAPE TO THE FUTURE.” We cannot escape the future. But we can “escape into the future” by stimulating interest in various career opportunities and social inclusion in an innovative and motivational way. The Escape Room will be dedicated to career guidance and designed as an innovative learning environment. It will promote the development of key future competencies (problem-solving, critical thinking, ethical judgment, and decision-making…), which we need to pursue the careers of the future but must develop in the present.

Project objective:
Integrating Digitalization into Existing Career Counseling Through the Use of an Escape Room
Consistency with the objectives of the measure:
– to improve the quality of the work and practices of the participating organizations and institutions and to open up to new actors who are not, in and of themselves, part of a single sector;
– strengthen organizations’ capacity for transnational and cross-sectoral work;
– to facilitate transformation and change (at the individual, organizational, or sectoral level), which will lead to improvements commensurate with each organization’s context.
Project results:
The partners will exchange experiences and establish long-term international cooperation, which will serve as the foundation for the development of new approaches to career counseling.
We, the partners, will learn about and become trained in the latest approaches to using escape rooms in career counseling.

A pilot installation of a mobile, digitized escape room looks toward the future.
As career counselors, we will gain new knowledge and tools in the field of career counseling, with an emphasis on the jobs of the future and the skills of the future.
Career counselors in Slovenia and Croatia will learn about new opportunities, approaches, and tools in the field of career counseling, which we will continue to use even after the project ends.
Counseling clients will benefit from a new, innovative approach to career counseling.
Target groups:
The primary target group consists of career counselors working in the field of adult education and career counselors working with young people:
– school counselors from elementary and secondary schools;
– counselors from career centers for young people and students;
– representatives of nongovernmental organizations involved in lifelong career guidance;
– school staff.
Secondary target group:
– elementary school students and their parents;
– high school and college students who need help choosing a career or making changes or transitions in their career paths;
– people with fewer opportunities;
– people living in rural and remote areas, such as the outermost regions;
– unemployed, employed.

JUNIOR MBA PROJECT: Young People and Entrepreneurial Skills

An interesting event as part of the Junior MBA: Youth and Entrepreneurial Skills project took place at the ABC HUB in Ljubljana.
The event was attended by lecturers, career counselors, and other professionals who work with young people. In addition to presenting the MAXP platform, the speakers addressed other interesting topics related to career guidance. They also shed light on several very important topics: from the challenges young people face today to creative solutions that can help them in their personal and career development.
Another goal of the event was to foster networking and collaboration in the field of career guidance, so we announced and briefly presented our new Erasmus+ project, “CAREER ROOM: A GATEWAY TO THE FUTURE” – JOBS OF THE FUTURE AND SKILLS OF THE FUTURE.
Through the Erasmus+ project KARPO, Director Bojan Hajdinjak, M.A., briefed staff and teachers from the fields of elementary and secondary education for adults, teachers of Slovenian as a second and foreign language and ZIP (initial integration of immigrants), as well as the City Adult Education Program.
Karpo is a natural satellite of Jupiter; it also stands for “CareerEscapeinto the Future,” and KARPO is an acronym for the international ERASMUS+ project “Career Room: Escape into the Future—Professions of the Future and Competencies of the Future.”
We created four designs for the KARPO project logo. It was selected—or rather, voted on—by social media users. Thank you all for your participation.
We also present the KARPO project to visitors at Cene Štupar – CILJ (participants in training and consulting sessions, business partners, external collaborators, etc.).

Andreja Glavač presented the Erasmus+ KARPO project to conference participants at the annual ZLUS meeting. She also invited career counselors and professionals from elementary and secondary schools to participate in the pilot implementation of the escape room and the final conference in February 2025.

As part of the ERASMUS+ KARPO project, career counselors from Cene Štupar-CILJ and DANTE received training on how to run an “escape room to the future.”
At the MAX DC (maximum experience, digital career) event on December 11, 2024, participants who work with young people had the opportunity to network. We were introduced to the platform and the career guide for young people being developed as part of the project. The tool is designed to help young people explore the digital careers of the future. At the event, Andreja Glavač also presented the ERASMUS+ KARPO project.
