Cook’s Assistant
A practical 80-hour training course where you will gain the skills needed to work as a cook’s assistant and prepare for the process of obtaining the NPK certificate for cook’s assistants.
NPK Training Program: Assistant Cook
The training program is based on the Catalog of Professional Knowledge and Skills and consists of 80 instructional hours. It is intended for anyone who wishes to acquire professional knowledge in the field of cooking and the opportunity to subsequently obtain the National Vocational Qualification (NPK) certificate as a cook’s assistant.
After successfully completing the training, candidates can begin the process of verifying and validating their NPK and obtain an officially recognized certificate.
Program Content
The training consists of 80 hours.
Theoretical Training - 35 instructional hours
- The Importance of Personal Hygiene for Kitchen Staff
- Food Cleaning
- Maintaining Hygiene and Order in the Kitchen
- Kitchen Appliances and Equipment: Maintenance, Cleaning, and How to Use Them
- Preparing serving dishes and preparing food for portioning
- Preparing ingredients for cold and hot appetizers
- Preparation of side dishes, soups, soup bases, stews, fillings, and salads
- Preparing Vegetable Dishes and Simple Desserts
- Fast Food Preparation
- Making pizza
- Knowledge Assessment
Practical Training - 45 instructional hours
Implementation of NPK Training
We conduct the training upon registration At least 6 participants.
- Start of training: expected in late February 2026
- Scope: 80 teaching hours
- Schedule: twice a week in the afternoon, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
- Location: A modern, fully equipped kitchen at 5 Ambrožiča Novljana Street, Ljubljana
Training Cost
The cost of the training is 915.00 euros.
Installment payment option:
- 1. Enrollment fee,
- The second installment in the following month.
